Linear vs Exponential Thinking

One of my most unforgettable moment is when I learned the distinction between linear thinking and exponential thinking.

In school we were taught to think linear. In business I was taught to think exponential all the time.

LINEAR thinking  is using your personal abilities while EXPONENTIAL  is leveraging on the abilities of others.

An example is when you're a teacher, you can only teach a certain number of students at a given time. But if you own a school, your reach can be even more.

The same with being a nurse or a doctor, an engineer, technician or a mechanic. You can serve more people if you build clinics, hospitals, shops or construction companies. By being able to multiply yourself, the possibilities of growth becomes endless.

"I would rather earn 1% off a 100 people's efforts than 100% of my own efforts." John D. Rockefeller
