Branding is Power.
 Most entrepreneurs work to build a business, but FEW actually build a BRAND. When you build a brand for your business you are creating two distinct assets. Whether you realize it or not, your brand can be many times more valuable than your business. For example, Coca-Cola’s brand is far more valuable than all its bottling plants, equipment, and capital goods worldwide.

Your product may be very similar to your competitor, but if you build a brand people trust and connect with, your brand becomes your NUMBER ONE selling tool.

Inside every great brand is the heart of the entrepreneur who started it all. It is the values that the entrepreneur holds dear. If the heart is not protected, the brand soon dies. This is why so many brands die when the entrepreneur sells the business to someone else.

​Everyday, we are bombarded by so many business and investment opportunities. Upon closer look, we will see that most of the readily available investment offered by financial advisers will just put the would-be investor at the “bottom of the food chain”. Iyun bang mga tira tira  na lang ang mapupunta sa iyo. To make matters worse, makukuha mo lang pag matanda ka na.

Better investments are not easily seen and thus require certain skills.  So how do we know if the investment is good or not? Here’s an example:

It’s hard to imagine a First World Philippines without entrepreneurs. The scarcity of new local business brands is one of the reasons why our country lags behind our neighbors despite having a high literacy rate and intelligent citizens. That’s because most Filipinos prefer employment rather than spend time developing skills in creating business systems and growing it.

Having more job seekers than available jobs create many problems. People either become unemployed, underpaid, work in a different field, or trade his time and skills abroad far from their families for better pay. With thousands of new graduates, how many will seek job & how many will create it?

I recall a graduating student being asked how many nursing students like him that he knows will graduate that year, his answer, about 30,000. He was again asked how many new hospitals he knows where built this year? He said he knows none.

While many people hope that the government will find a way to solve this problem, waiting for this to happen will just be a dream as the government cannot do it by itself. It needs people who are creative, brave enough to take risk, and can make things happen. We may have an abundant pool of talented people in our country today but they usually lack the interest, motivation or courage to become entrepreneurs.


For our economy to grow, we need people to create jobs. Any economy would collapse if everyone’s looking and no one’s creating it.
It can be noted that it is the young, brave, nationalistic youths of Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore who created the dynamic businesses that have propelled their countries to the top.


But how can shifting from one’s profession to becoming an entrepreneur make a difference? To illustrate, if you are a doctor, you can serve a number of people in a day. But if you are a doctor/entrepreneur who owns a hospital, you can serve many times more. Same with a technician/entrepreneur who owns an equipment supply company, a technical service, a consultancy, a technology or a manufacturing company.  This is the same in the case of a nurse, teacher, engineer, mechanic, or a carpenter.
 
Of course, many will choose to play it safe rather than take the risk. That’s true because entrepreneurship is not for everyone. But as one great man puts it: “There’s no passion to be found in playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one we are capable of living”. – Nelson Mandela

Food Business to Double Your Money Fast

​​The good thing about food business is the very attractive mark-up profit the owner can impose. This can be possible if it's the owner himself who've designed the business and his mark-up is not dictated as in the case of a franchisor-franchisee set up.

In my case, I use the minimum 100% mark-up value on every item on my menu.

Below is an example.

           Example:
                        1. Cost of goods to produce Beef mami           -  P 16.00             Selling Price: P35.00 
                        2. Cost of goods to produce Longganiza meal -   P 25.00            Selling Price: P55.00



This means that for every P1,000 I use as capital gives me another P1,000 in return. I cannot think of a better way to double the money immediately than this way.

​Of course, you need to sell an established minimum amount to cover the expenses such as rent, labor, electricity, gas, taxes etc. This is called the BREAKEVEN level of a business operation. After that comes the profit.

BRANDING ​allows you to increase the price further without people complaining. Having a refutable BRAND name allows the owner to break the cost-value trade-off.
​
While the price of your product can be much higher than your competitor, your BRAND can even make customers believe the opposite.
